What can I say but beautiful great fun. Another stunning book by Jade Summer! I just want jump into the sea and swim with these mermaids!
It's the first book I buy of this author/artist and I am so glad I did. I am still working on my first page, and I can't wait to finish it and start on my next one. I definitely like the paper used to publish this book. The prismacolor pencils lay very nicely on this type of paper. I will definitely buy again from this author, undecided on which one to buy next, though. I hope to see a Vol. 2 of Mermaids. I just love the magical world of under the sea. :DUpdate, I just finished it :) Took me 3 days...
I'm always trying to find a good mermaid coloring book and this one is in my top three. The pictures are not double-sided which I like. They repeat which is awesome for me, since I might not like the color choices I chose for one picture, I can change it up on another.
Very pretty pictures, well drawn and the paper seems fine. I like that it has black backing in case stuff leaks through. The only reason that it's a four rating is that there must have been a printing error because the first half of the book has a dotted line from top to bottom on the right-hand side. (I didn't bother returning it since it comes with two copies and the second set of images was fine.)
Whether or not your colorist you will love this mermaid coloring book! Each page is more beautiful than the next. You are definitely guaranteed hours of soothing entertainment!
I color with only gel pens and found that the black backing on the pages turns the picture slightly grey because of the wet gel. For colored pencils I think it would be great! I love some of the pictures in this book and absolutely detest others. I don’t like the whole evil mermaid thing and some of the pictures I would feel embarrassed to have others see. However, if only for the pictures I do love this book is worth getting!
These drawings are very creative and worth coloring for Adults. My only issue that I have is when my colored pencils break, and the sharpener that I have isn't very useful. Other than that I'm happy that these were created because coloring is relaxing, and great to get away from the stress of reality. I am also considering purchasing the rest of Jade Summer coloring books.
Very nice coloring book. Blacked out on the back of each page, high quality. I thought the mermaid book was a tad weird for me though. A little too sexy for kids, but not quite " adult".
