Every woman over 50 should read this. She covers the transition into the territory of the wise woman/crone by explaining the archetypes of the goddesses involved. Excellent book from someone who has done research into ageing.

I was looking for information on goddesses and the eroticism of older women, and found very little about that in this book. People with other, less specific, interests may find the book to be of greater interest. However, while older men may find archetypes that support their continued sexual development in books on mythology, it is interesting that in a book focused on goddesses in older women, this important aspect of human experience is nearly absent.

I found Goddesses in Older Women quite relevant to my life and most enlightening. It is a book that I want to return to again and again for refreshers. I appreciate the research that went into the writing.

Having read and bought several copies of Crones Don't Whine I had not expected the textbook read of the book. I have a Masters in Clinical Psychology. The book was more technical then I wanted for a gift

I gifted this to my mother, she loved it.

This a great gift for a diva turning 50. I took it with a group of ladies 50- 61 on a 50th birthday celebration trip to Mexico We all enjoyed reading it. I have had their other book,Goddesses in Every Woman for years and love that as well. Both are well researched and help women understand their motivations and passions. Good food for thought on the female myth.

This is the stuff I write about also, and Jean Shinoda Bolen's earlier book Goddesses in Everywoman was my first exposure to the subject that captured my interest and has inspired my work and writing for nearly 50 years! Now, as an "Older Women" I find her writing to be encouraging for me still.

Read Goddesses in Every Woman when I was in my 30's and it was a wonderful guide for the younger years of my life. At 65, it's nice to know there are guides available to us women growing into the later years of our lives. Reads quickly and has much to offer.

I extremely rarely give five star reviews, but I had to give it to this book. Well written, extremely unique travel book. Twenty five years ago the author basically hopped on a mountain bike in Ohio, rode to NYC and hopped on a plane to Scandinavia (chosen because it was the cheapest flight to Europe he could find). There the adventure begins. Solo riding his bike down Europe, into Africa and across the Sahara (mid summer no less), and on, ending up in Hong Kong where the last of his $5,000 bankroll was used up.The trip was roughly 25 years ago and he traveled across places like Syria, the frontier lands of Pakistan, etc.-places no American outside of the military could go today. It's truly amazing he didn't die several times during this ride. Many, many times he was helped out by the poorest of the poor in countries we now consider hostile.In the forward the author links to his website where some of the pictures from his trip can be found. I definitely suggest following along with those pictures as you read.The book is very well written and documents a truly stupendous adventure that probably can never be repeated.

I love true life adventure tails but this one left me wanting. The writer left out so much of his adventure including hiking in Nepal and most of Europe. He seemed to push himself and put himself in mortal danger, biking in the desert during the summer, when there wasn't really a need. He had a great adventure but I felt the book could have been much better.

I have reviewed this book before when it first came out. However, I am happy to review it now as I often select it as a gift for friends and people interesed in travel.I appreciated that the book was well written and the adventures breathtaking. Howsomeone could possibly take such a journey is beyond belief. Perhaps not evenpossible today. Everyone I have gifted says, "I couldn't put it down." I finally decided to keep several copies on hand to share with people I meet. It was that good!

A captivating story of a bicycling trip across the world. Sounds impossible, but he proved it to be possible. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part, through this book, of his adventures, and misadventures!

My husband and I both enjoyed this book. We are cyclists and could relate to many of the situations. We also went to the website to review the pictures which was nice.

I loved this trip around the world...I was on the bike with Scott...and I'm not a bike rider. Amazing what he saw and endured! He had me on the edge of my chair more than once. The man can ride and the man can write!

As a bike tourer I love a good story of a long difficult journey. Lots of hardship but the reward is meeting interesting people, seeing unique places, and realizing the simple things are what matters. Thanks for a great read!

In this hook, Nic Saint has the cats trying on more human characteristics and it's hysterical. I enjoy them trying to use the I nternet to figure out adult toys and them applying their new found intelligence to Odelia's life. Odelia also mixes up the cat's roles trying to get them to work together more. Some of the hijinks and tomfoolery are to be expected but some was cute.Add in the personalities of Odelia's family and the murder she's trying to solve and you have the perfect cozy mystery. That Odelia can talk with her cats just adds to the story. I've been enjoying this series from the first and would suggest anyone interested to read the books in chronological order.

Max and his crew of feisty felines work with his human, Odile, to solve the sick murder of an ex-Hollywood star. Max is back, but having trouble concentrating because Odile insists on putting him in a diet, which makes poor Max weak and vulnerable. The group of four cats work together as usual and provide Odile with the clue she needs to solve the case.The murderer is on to her, though, and her life is in danger. Will handsome police detective Chase save her in time? A fun read!

I am so glad I discovered The Mysteries of Max. Following Odelia's and Chase's relationship grow, while Max and his band of cat sleuths find clues to the crime is very interesting and such fun to read! Ready for the next crime. Anyone who likes a good mystery and cats will love these stories.

All 4 of the cat's experienced changes in this mystery. It was fun to follow their story. Loved that Odelia and Chase are an official couple. Grab still needs to be reigned in a little. I love Max and friends and their relationship with Odelia. Does Chase know the cat's talk?

My favorite feline detective team is back. With a few twists and turns. Max suffers a crisis which has him doubting himself. Gran is Gran on steroids. I love this series, and can hardly wait for the next mystery, especially with Diego back in the picture.

Cute mystery with the cats trying to solve the crime before the "humans". Interesting story. You didn't see who the killer was until the very end. A lot of little cliff hangers leading you in different directions.

My positive opinion of this series has increased with every book. The interaction between cats and their owners now seems perfectly plausible. The stories are quite entertaining

those who like stories with cats as main characters will enjoy this series. Would be a 5 without the grandmother and other silly explicit stuff.
