Rabbi Grollman has written the perfect book for anyone going through a time of loss. Being a widow myself I know that it is very difficult to concentrate after the loss and therefore get the help needed from books. Rabbi Grollman has put together a book that is very precise, to the point and written in small sections that are easy to digest. I purchased this book and also one of his other books, Living When A Loved One Has Died, for my cousin who recently lost her husband very suddenly. These books are a tremendous help to her and her children as well as myself. I find myself rereading and referring to his books periodically on this long journey of widowhood. I would highly recommend Rabbi Grollman's books to anyone grieving.

Rabbi Grollman "gets" it. He understands the reality of the grief process. His affirmations of these feelings written in such simple and profound language, only a few sentences on a page, are for those of us with little energy to read a tome. It is comforting to read, "Grief takes time, and patience, and courage." This book is to be read and reread as the journey of grief continues to become a part of the daily lives of those of us who have lost loved ones. Highly recommended.

Rather than board games, my husband decided to switch up during family game night. We came across this book and thought it would interesting to play with kids. 3 hours later, my husband was laying on the floor laughing while the kids were on top him. This was definitely a fun night. So fun that we played for 3 nights straight! The kids even started making their own jokes.

I am at awe that a book can keep my twin's company for 3 whole hours in the plane. They kept trying to make each other laugh. I saw some silly faces that I never thought my twins could make. This is a very interesting book!

This is the hardest part to read the book without laughing. The stories was so funny. My kids love this book so much and they tell the story to their friends. Thanks to the writter who write the story.Love it.

Int. has worked with Fawzia Al-Rawi on many projects that have required cross-cultural sensitivity to achieve their vital communicative aims. This lets the reader seek God through different attributes, under different circumstances. For example, al - 'Aziz "the powerful, strong, beloved," nature of God can be reflected upon when in need of a source of strength, or Ar - Raheem "the boundlessly merciful" nature of God can be used when in need of love and affection.The author provides great insight into the meanings of each name.It is also worth noting that reflection on different attributes of God is not limited to Islam. Followers of the Hindu faith, for example, use the name Brahman for the one God and associate different attributes with other names; Vishnu "the Preserver or the Protector," Shiva "the Transformer."

This book is intended for English speakers who want to understand better how to use the Divine Names in prayer. The divine quality contained in each name is explained in highly readable English and the 3 consonant Arabic root is identified. Each name is accompanied by a beautiful Arabic calligraphy rendering of the name. The specific healing power of each name is accessed through recitation. (A free MP3 file of the 99 Names may be downloaded from the author's website.) Sufis believe Arabic is one of the "sound-key" languages--that is that the vibration of the sounds themselves carry power to affect the human body, soul, and spirit. Reciting the names or a specific name brings healing. This reviewer is a mere novice at the practice, but I have definitely experienced benefits from praying in this way. I have also seen positive changes in others for whom I have prayed some divine names. If you value the heart opening and heart healing practice of "Remembrance of God," or want to learn about it from a learned Sufi teacher, this book will inspire.

This book was used in a class that I took and I was so intrigued that I had to meet with the instructor to learn more about Sufism. The words are very powerful and a wonderful addition to prayer and meditation.

Beautiful descriptions, showing a divine balance of qualities and attributes and how we can better understand them, how they relate to the whole, and to each other, and what they mean for us. It's my favorite book today, about the 99 names of Allah.

This is a great read, it'll give you tips and tricks of the trade. Not to brag, but my son won his classroom spelling bee. He advanced to the District wide bee, but didn't place in the top three. Oh well it was a great experience.

If you want to help your child win a spelling bee it is worth the investment. You cannot get by with out a Webster's third edition dictionary becuase you will have to provide pronunciation and definition to your child. Go more high tech and get the software version of the dictionary. It will save you hours of time looking words up.This Champ book has a nice layout. You'll get to see previous national spellers, see what some spellers chose as careers, spelling rules, most common misspelled words and spelling games. I probably read the book more then my 5th grader did. However he did win his school bee, his district bee, and placed 5th at his regional bee.The CD in nice too. Warning: The printer put a small slip of paper inside the book for words in the book that are misspelled accidently. Make sure you take an inkpen and change the spellings in the book before you hand it to your child. Chances are the little slip of paper will become lost.

I discovered the Over-50 Spelling Bee last year and rediscovered my love of words. I traveled to a local bee at the county level and our state bee and had lots of fun competing. I didn't go to Cheyenne for the National bee because I was busy with other things when it took place in June, but I'll get there one of these years. If you liked spelling when you were young, thought maybe you could win a bee or two but didn't have an opportunity, this is the time for you because after 50 there's no limit to how many times you can compete.This book has been a great asset in learning word origins and the common spellings associated with the particular languages from which different words come. I've used this book a lot and continue to refer to it as I study my new hobby. I'd buy it again if I didn't already have it!

We purchased this book for our son who found himself the winner of the local county spelling bee. In reviewing preparation tips for the upcoming state and Scripps national bee, various sources and people recommended this book as a must have. After receiving it, we tend to agree. The book combines helpful spelling tips and hints with words that are associated with various topics (music, healthcare, etymology, sports, etc). The authors are former winners or parents of former winners and provide an insiders view of spelling bees as well as learning tips.
