On the surface, this series looks like it would resemble 'The Curse of the Gods' RH series, yet from the first 10 pages, you will quickly realize that there is NOTHING the same in this offering.Z reaches out and smacks you in the face, pushing herself onto the page and crafting the story around herself with a bloody purpose that is slowly becoming clear. The world in which the Nightmares, otherwise known as Supernaturals, rule, is ripe with corruption and persecution. Z, as part of the Alphabet (yes... really) resistance, is an assassin who spends her days and her nights fighting agains the regime and struggling to bring humanity some semblance of light. When a target's death lands her a rare and precious invitation to The Damning, an event held every 5 years in order to discover the realms most deadly Nightmare, she knows this is the chance of a lifetime - or a sure fire way to die. Get in, win, and kill the Kingdoms heirs... the seven Princes. Just another day for an assassin.Thoughts:Love, Love, love this book! Seriously, there is humor, fourth wall breaking chuckles, sexual tension, fated yet incredibly reluctant mates, royal intrigue, a deadly competition and friendships most foul. It has everything, and then some.Perspective:First Person, Multiple POV.Ending Type:Episodic, with series cliffhanger.Pros:~ VERY well written.~ FUNNY!~ Z... she is a fantastic FMC and carries this tale from start to finish.~ The Princes... I dare you not to fall in love with them, even just a little bit.~ Well edited~ Emotional in a way that doesn't tear, but bleeds.Cons:~ Heartbreaking (it's a con, ok.... I'm still sniffling, so it's a bloody Con!)~ Book 2 publication date not set yet. (I'm an impatient reader... sue me.)
Listen here beetches. Read the ducking book. Our heroine, Z, is well written. I loved her character and I loved all the characters. It is a short read though. It's merely an introduction to the world, the characters, and hopefully the overall plot? But for now, it's pretty cut and dry and some of the plots you think were going to continue on, don't. Or at least, I think so. To say I'm intrigued is the mere hair on the camels back. I want more, I need more, and quite frankly will stab a beetch to get it. (AKA, I'm mostly going to beetch in RHRA FB group!)
This story just sucked me in, great chacter and world building. The story is so unique and the twists it takes as it progresses just keeps you wondering what will happen next. I love the fact that a lot of the characters have a disability of some sort, PTSD, Mental, Physical, etc but it enhances thier story. I very highly recommend this book and I will be 1 clicking all the other stories for this series!
This was an interesting harem book...and I have a feeling that her adventures are just beginning...looking forward to the next book hope a little longer...also minor spoilers....I hope Mali her friend finds a way back into Z’s life.
Paranormal. Rh. 7 supernaturals. Mate bonds. Human Assassin heroine. I don't even want to tell you anything about it. You just need to trust me and read it. Katie May has a way of yanking your heart around. Love it.
I found this an interesting read. I liked A well enough, but she also frustrated me quite a bit. I am interested in what will happen next, so I am planning on reading book two.
I've been eagerly anticipating this book and I definitely wasn't disappointed. Such great characters and lots of action, laughs and tears. Eagerly awaiting the next book!
Loved the storyline, and the characters. Katie knows how to write a story. However, using a dictionary to look up the bigger words would make this book a whole lot better.
